  • We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our cold storage warehouse facility. The Operations Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and effective management of all aspects of warehouse operations, including inventory control, logistics coordination, labor management, equipment, employee supervision, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

    KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Leadership and Team Management :

    • Establish clear goals and expectations for direct reports regarding productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness.

    • Provide ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

    • Regularly provide constructive performance feedback and recognition for achievements.

    • Assign duties based on individual strengths and workload requirements.

    • Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

    Operational Procedures Improvement :

    • Regularly review and refine operational procedures to streamline processes and eliminate inefficiencies.

    • Implement best practices for verifying incoming and outgoing shipments, handling merchandise, and maintaining inventory accuracy.

    • Utilize technology solutions such as inventory management software to optimize warehouse operations.

    Collaboration and Communication :

    • Partner with sales, inventory control, and operations support teams to ensure seamless coordination and availability of products.

    • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to align operational strategies with overall business objectives.

    • Collaborate with other departments such as Finance, HR, and Continuous Improvement to support organizational goals and initiatives.

    Long-Range Planning :

    • Analyze sales forecasts and collaborate with management to plan long-term labor needs accordingly.

    • Anticipate future operational challenges and proactively implement solutions to address them.

    Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) :

    • Establish clear KPIs related to cost, productivity, customer service, profits, and team performance.

    • Monitor KPIs regularly and take corrective actions as needed to ensure targets are met or exceeded.

    • Empower team members to contribute ideas and solutions for achieving KPIs.

    Safety and Compliance :

    • Prioritize the health, safety, and environmental compliance of warehouse operations.

    • Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to mitigate risks and prevent accidents.

    • Conduct regular safety training sessions and promote a culture of safety awareness among team members.

    Data Analysis and Reporting :

    • Analyze operational reports and metrics to identify trends, performance gaps, and areas for improvement.

    • Present findings and recommendations to management for strategic decision-making and resource allocation.

    Continuous Improvement :

    • Encourage a culture of continuous improvement by soliciting feedback from team members and stakeholders.

    • Implement process improvement initiatives based on insights gained from data analysis and feedback.

    • Celebrate successes and milestones achieved through continuous improvement efforts.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES)

    • 5 years warehouse operations or direct warehouse management experience

    • Experience with Warehouse Management System (WMS)

    • Demonstrated management skills with emphasis on guiding and developing a team, customer service, communications, and planning

    • Ability to effectively present information to customers, clients, and employees of the organization

    • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite

    • Ability to work in temperatures as low as -20 Fahrenheit/-25 Celsius in cold storage sites or up to 100 Fahrenheit/37 Celsius in dry storage sites while wearing company provided personal protective equipment and freezer gear

    • Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs./18 kgs.; weight may be more dependent upon facility

    • Ability to work a flexible work schedule and shift, including weekends if needed

    • Must be comfortable with various noise levels, at times, can be loud

    Pay Range:$67,500.00 - $121,500.00
