    Wabtec Foundry is currently seeking an Operations Manager to join our team. This position reports directly to the General Manager. The Operations Manager is responsible to oversee all plant operations including production planning, scheduling priorities, site safety program, maintenance, quality and shipping activities. This role encompasses responsibilities including, production goals, customer on-time-delivery, quality objectives, safety, equipment sustainability, building services and management of direct and indirect employees.

    Other responsibilities include, but not limited to:

    • Monitor customer order backlog to develop production forecast requirements. Make recommendations for manpower adjustments.

    • Ensure inventory and ordering of raw materials are maintained for all Production requirements.

    • Work closely with Department Supervisors to ensure production goals and monthly sales targets are met.

    • Work with Production Scheduler to help achieve an efficient schedule.

    • Cover for Supervisors during vacation times.

    • Address personnel issues on the shop floor, as they arise, including employee attendance issues and various other disciplinary actions.

    • Lead improvement initiatives in productivity, equipment, cost and quality projects to meet plant budgetary objectives.

    • Develop and regularly review reports with management.

    • Ensure Quality improvement plans are in place.

    • Participate in quality improvement initiatives. Input on corrective actions for issues.

    • Monitor production activity to ensure processes are being followed.

    • Responsible for daily operations in production areas.

    • Conduct or coordinate employee training requirements.

    • Maintain a positive environment for employee health and safety performance

    • Perform safety observations and investigations

    • Develop and maintain a proactive Preventative Maintenance Program

    • Manage maintenance activities for breakdown recovery and planned projects

    • Oversee all shipping and receiving activities to ensure customer OTD and proper documentation/procedures are followed.

    Qualifications & Skills :

    • Strong leadership skills with 8-10 years' experience in a manufacturing/production environment.

    • Management experience in a foundry environment would be preferred.

    • Strong organization skills and proven ability in problem solving and process improvements.

    • HS Diploma or GED required. Post-Secondary education in a related field would be preferred.

    • Ability to effectively communicate with management, Customers and Production Team

    • Strong computer application skills, including Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new software applications

    • Excellent oral and written communications skills

    • Ability to work with various cross-functional teams and related assignments
