    Job Description:

    We are seeking a Processor/Plater to join our facility in Canoga Park, California (Los Angeles area). Union position, 2nd shift. Clean, Fine Clean, Chemical Conversion, Sand Blast, Anodize and Acid Etching of external and internal surfaces of rocket engine parts and assemblies to meet drawing requirements while ensuring hardware is FOD free.

    Essential Functions:

    • Read and interpret information from planning documents, drawings, blueprints, sketches, engineering orders, work instructions, tool orders, specifications, and EPI's to clean hardware to meet drawing specifications.

    • Hardware is cleaned in tanks, high pressure steam cleaned, hand-wiped, parts washer, fine clean wet cells, and in precision clean rooms. Must be able to use ovens and other aids like borescopes to process hardware per specification.

    • Be able to clean and package hardware to meet all fine clean specifications and requirements.

    • Safely lift and process rocket engine hardware (up to 5,000 lbs) and plan proper grouping and positioning of hardware to assure cleaning meets engineering specifications. Attach, flush and purge tooling/fixtures to parts and assemblies for processing and drying operations. Understand tank chemistry and verify solutions and chemicals within the tanks are within specification.

    • Be familiar with caustic and acidic solutions and how they interact with personnel and hardware. Understand complex geometry and how to clean all FOD from internal passages. Be familiar with different metals (Inconel, copper, stainless steels, aluminum, etc) and how they re-act to different chemicals and processes.

    • Operate processing controls and equipment to perform acid etching of weld joints, electro-chem etching of hardware, passivating, degreasing or stripping parts and assemblies to assure proper processing per specified requirements.

    Qualifications:

    High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

    Preferred Additional Skills:

    • Experience working with and around hazardous chemicals including acids.

    • Must have a proven safety record and experience with PPE used with hazardous chemicals.

    • Experience handling large (500+lbs) complex hardware with tooling and other handling devices such as pallet jacks, cranes, lifting straps, etc.

    • Experience reading, comprehending and using planning and drawings to meet required specification requirements.

    In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $54,600- $104,811.20. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
