Position: Quality Specialist
Job Location: Pasadena, TX (Branham)
Job Type: Full-Time
Status: Non-Exempt
Summary of the Role
This position is typically responsible for performing all QA inspections of outgoing materials.
Responsibilities
Must maintain 100% commitment to safety policies and procedures.
Performs all QA Inspections of outgoing material (metal hoses) and verifies the customer requirements, processes and work instructions and applicable standards are met.
Understands the Company's Quality Policy and objectives and contribute to their success
Know Company procedures and work instructions.
Verify appropriate paperwork with the order
Complete MERI Inspections, as applicable
Identify and record any process nonconformities
Ensure all inspection measuring and testing equipment is properly calibrated before each use
Complete in-Process Inspection reports
Use PMI XRF Analyzer to analyze results of metal material
Makes recommendations to management with respect to product and process improvements
Maintains productivity standards
Assists with physical inventory
Performs other related duties as required
Skills and Abilities
Possess excellent motivation to meet/exceed customer requirements
Ability to read and understand Work Orders and Job Sheets.
Requires a proficiency in math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in units of measure. Additionally, must be able to perform calculations using whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
Basic mechanical skills including the use of hand tools.
Ability to operate or learn to operate basic machinery
Ability to communicate both written and verbally.
Minimum Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years of age
High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience
Reliable transportation is a must
Must be able to work independently
1-2 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting
Ability to interact professionally with all employees and customers
Ability to work overtime, as required
Ability to pull, push, grasp, bend, lift and carry up to 50 lbs independently on a repeated basis
Ability to consistently move throughout facility and customers during the full workday
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Must have a mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn about how our products are produced on equipment
Basic Microsoft Excel skills
Basic math skills
Properly measure with a tape measure
Preferred Qualifications
3 years of experience in QA position in industrial or manufacturing setting
Requires excellent verbal and written communications skills
Knowledge of tooling and tool maintenance
Proven measurement and mathematical fraction/decimal conversion skills
Requires ability to organize and prioritize workload and be able to interact effectively with all types of people in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
Metal Hose experience, a plus
