Rotary Die Cutter - RDC Operator

SUMMARY: The Rotary Die Cutter Operator is responsible for running and maintaining the dies and related equipment.

• Follow all safety rules and execute all job duties in a safe manner.

• Follow all machine specific lockout/tagout procedures on an as needed basis.

• Maintain full compliance of all GMPs.

• Participate and ensure department is compliant with SQF audit regulations.

• Maintain housekeeping excellence in accordance with 5S Standards.

• Read and understand product specification sheets.

• Inspect finished product to ensure quality specifications are met.

• Perform all required customer and departmental quality checks.

• Responsible for mounting rotary die cutter module, sheeter, repair knives, and spot tape anvil.

• Work with Die & Plate Coordinator in prepping the cutting die for operation.

• Cleaning, lubricate and ensure the functionality of all die cutting materials.

• Perform quality checks for die and finished product.

• Properly mount the cutting / sheeting modules.

• Maintain and adjust stacker for proper delivery of cartons.

• Maintain waste generation at or below budgeted standard.

• Perform scheduled machine PMs and enter work orders as needed.

• Coordinate with shift supervisor and wet end operators to meet or exceed productivity goals.

• Monitor dry end personnel for safety, quality, and productivity.

• Work overtime as determined by the department supervisor or the production manager when customer demands require it and/or other mitigating factors.

EDUCATION AND RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or GED preferred

• Any equivalent combination of experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.

• Prefer work experience in a corrugated manufacturing plant or rotary die cutting.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS or CERTIFICATIONS:

• Criminal background and drug screen check required for hire.

• Must have experience in a manufacturing setting.

TECHNICAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:

• In-depth knowledge of company and customer quality and quantity expectations.

• Knowledge of safety, health, and requirements and applicable programs.

• Ability to effectively manage time.

• Demonstrate ability to organize information.

MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT OPERATING KNOWLEDGE

• Operating knowledge of and experience with personal computers and peripherals.

• Will be exposed to some dusty and noisy conditions periodically.

• Must be able to work with other personnel in meeting production goals.

• Will assist the Production Manager and Plant Manager with accomplishing specific projects as assigned.
