    Job Description

    This position will be responsible for leading a team of four to six CNC Machine Operators in the areas of Safety, Quality, and Productivity. That responsibility includes direction of these associates, training of new production associates, and supporting them to reach the daily production goals. The TC Cell Lead will execute changeovers according to direction of the department planner, troubleshoot technical and quality issues, execute complex machine parameter adjustments, and maintain the Quality standards of the product. This position will require frequent mobility throughout production area. A detailed understanding of CNC controls and metalworking equipment is required. General computer knowledge, and the ability to learn new software programs are also needed. As a TC Cell Lead you are expected to maintain a positive, clean, orderly and most of all safe work environment.

    Qualifications

    • Ability to stand and be mobile for 8 to 12 hours

    • Proper hand dexterity

    • Ability to follow written Work Instructions, Production Orders, Product Specifications, & Technical Drawings

    • Proficient in the use of measuring devices such as Dial Indicators, Micrometers and Calipers to verify that product meets requirements

    • Minimum of 5 years of experience leading associates

    • Effective with written and oral communication

    • Minimum of 5 years of CNC Machining operation and programming experience, in lieu of experience an Associates Degree in CNC Programming and Machining is required

    • Fundamental understanding of energy sources (Electric, Pneumatic, Hydraulic) and their functions within a machine center

    • Experience working with Microsoft Office and Material Requirements Planning (SAP) software

    • Ability to lift (up to) 40 lbs

    • Ability to safely and effectively use hand tools and power tools

    • Identify and document Safety Issues.

    • Setup machine using basic hand tools and measuring devices.

    • Transfer and load files on a CNC controller.

    • Direct associates at the start of and throughout the shift.

    • Document time and attendance.

    • Train new CNC Machine Operators.

    • Identify and assess common problems with machine.

    • Understand proper product flow on machine.

    • Read and follow standard operating procedures pertaining to the CNC Machines.

    • Inspecting product for quality standards.

    • Understand root causes of quality issues and how to resolve them.

    • Determine type and amount of adjustments to maintain product tolerances.
