    The hourly rate for this position is $15.11/Hourly Plus $1.00/Hourly Shift Premium per hour.

    What you'll do:

    Eaton's Commercial & Residential Distribution Solutions division is currently seeking a material handler to join our team on 2nd shift. This position is based at our Hodges, SC location.

    Hourly Rate: Starting at $15.11 with a $1.00 per hour shift premium

    Position Overview:

    The material handler will receive and issue raw materials, assemblies, sub-assemblies, tools and supplies. They will assist the planners and buyers on material availability related processes and box, pack and ship finished product and all raw materials, as appropriate. They will execute all required tasks including, but not limited to assembly allocation of materials, inspection, testing and shipping. Box, pack and ship finished product and all raw materials, as appropriate. They will scan appropriate paperwork on housing going out for paint. This person will be responsible for organizing pallets and blue bins for storage or to be sent out to vendors.

    In this function you will:

    You will support the supply chain materials process to fulfill customer requirements/orders by producing quality products, safely, in a timely manner following Standard Work.

    • Comply with the environment, health, and safety guidelines.

    • Sustainment of 5S+ in area.

    • You will use a variety of material handling equipment and hand tools to unload and load trucks arriving or leaving from receiving area and for placing material in the proper bin location or delivering material to the wok centers.

    • You will proactively identify opportunities for process improvement as well as complete root cause analysis in response to issues with quality or production.

    • You will be responsible for quality, including visual inspections of material before shipping, identifying nonconforming parts, and troubleshooting errors.

    • You will cross train and flex or stand in for other employees/job functions when necessary.

    • You will support as the shipping associates as needed by cutting wood, boxing, crating, or other responsibilities as assigned.

    • You will use supply chain tracking systems to maintain inventory and use scanners to scan items from trucks.

    • You will receive in materials as well as loading and unloading trucks.

    • You will be required to operate a forklift to move material or bring material to the area to build crates.

    • Form shipping groups of final products shipped to external customers and prepare assemblies for shipment or storage.

    • Use appropriate lift assist or partner lift when moving material/products. May lift and carry up to 50 lbs and push or pull up to 100 lbs.

    Qualifications:

    Required (Basic) Qualifications:

    • Authorized to work in the United States without Company sponsorship Preferred qualifications:

    • 3 months of manufacturing experience in an industrial manufacturing environment

    • 3 months of experience operating a powered industrial vehicle (e.g., forklift)

    • 3 months of experience utilizing Eaton system controls including material management.

    • 3 months of experience using hand and air tools

    • South Carolina Manufacturing Certification (SCMC) or equivalent

    Skills:

    • Proven problem-solving skills.

    • Effective oral and written communication skills as well as planning and organizational skills.

    • Ability to manage by influence through solid relationships and process focus
