Welder And Fabricator

Description:

• Reading and interpreting schematics to determine the configuration and specification of a structure.

• Using measuring and marking tools (such as combination squares, straightedges, and calipers) to lay out and align workpieces.

• Preparing materials for welding by cleaning metal surfaces using scrapers and grinders to remove rough spots.

• Inspecting welding equipment prior to welding to ensure all cable connections are tightly fitted and free of fraying.

• Setting the shielding gas flow rate appropriately.

• Selecting welding wires for different purposes (e.g., .025in. and .035in. wires for thin and thick materials).

• Building jigs and adjusting them for frames.

• Performing welding in various positions (flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead) using the appropriate shielding gas mixture.

• Maintaining electrode stick-out length during welding.

• Conducting tests to assess weld quality and conformance to specifications1 (~~~/) .
