Cargill acquires Ohio pet food manufacturer

Cargill Inc., one of the largest animal feed and pet food suppliers in the world, has acquired an Ohio pet food manufacturing company to expand that part of its business. The Minnetonka-based company announced Tuesday it has entered into an agreement to buy Pro-Pet, a St. Marys, Ohio-based company with 150 employees that makes pet food for several private labels, including the dog food brand Black Gold.
